Intensive Russian Attacks Disrupt Power In Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities targeted in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have come under escalating strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have caused power cuts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were wounded while residents in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and faced disruption to water supplies, as stated by local authorities.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was killed in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, based on information from area administrators.

Russian forces has escalated attacks on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while officials has demanded "real steps" from partner nations to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the US, European nations and the G7 - in supplying protection systems and enforcing restrictions," he wrote in a social media post.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty missiles attacked the country's power systems, labeling such attacks as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were striving to repair systems.

A wave of strikes damaged power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.

Several of the people injured in the attacks on the city have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region experienced heavy assaults throughout the evening. A minor lost their life and multiple civilians were injured.

The strikes come after periods of air raids in the area, parts of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to identify.

Authorities told reporters that Russia was deliberately attempting to destroy the national power system, with strikes already affecting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and government agencies were bracing for further attacks.
