Note: Spoilers for the latest installment of this adventure follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The third episode ended with a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of heroes who will branch out from the main group to undertake their independent quest, apart from the other two tables.
This warrior group consists of the determined fighter (played by Travis), Thimble (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
With a large ensemble, it was evident from the outset that having everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, weaving together the personal journeys before branching into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Planners, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
According to the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for participants who are drawn to a typically action-packed fight-heavy gameplay experience where diplomatic options are scarce.
Upon first impression, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might look out of place, but the events of episode 3 make it clear why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the party knows exactly where to proceed after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose passing kicked off the story’s plot—exploited the foes for his selfish purposes, breaking into the hidden lair, attacking Thimble, and taking all the enchanted items to sell off.
Casimir then paid off his liabilities and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each character has a personal reason to exit the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the close ally and best friend, desires vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the region and cautions that it is a nasty environment.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having defied his family’s wishes to kill the target and instead freed him, have no other options.
- Yet, their position as prominent individuals in the influential clan could help the group enter places they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The fighter swore a life debt to Wicander for his salvation and will now accompany him anywhere.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are sought by the authorities that control the setting for a multiple motives, making staying in the city too risky:
- Thimble and The character are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The cleric turned against the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the family.
This leaves them few options but to journey toward the northern region in pursuit of Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
From the recent installment’s post-show segment, we learn that the warrior group won’t be around next week, leaving the other eight players to assemble the Questers and Schemers parties.
Viewers can expect discovering which characters will be where in the story’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on October 24.
